JACKSON, Wyo. — Come December, Jacksonites can trade in the cold for some Miami heat.

According to a statement from JH Air, a new seasonal service between Miami (MIA) and Jackson Hole (JAC) is slated to launch this winter. Flights will launch on Dec. 15 and will operate through April 3.

Service will operate daily from Dec. 15 through Jan. 9, weekly from Jan. 10 through Feb. 15, and daily from Feb. 16 through April 3.

“American is eager to connect Jackson Hole Airport with Miami this winter, offering up to six daily flights from JAC,” said Philippe Puech, director of short-haul network planning at American Airlines.

“This new route complements our existing winter service between JAC and Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, New York and Phoenix. We’re pleased to offer local residents with greater access to American’s global network and connect more customers to the Jackson Hole region.”

The new Miami route joins a robust lineup of flights from 14 markets directly to Jackson Hole this winter: Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, LaGuardia, Newark, Atlanta and Miami.

“We have valued American Airlines service since 1987 with the arrival of the inaugural nonstop flight from Dallas/Fort Worth to the JAC Airport. American’s commitment to Jackson has expanded to year-round service, with flights from multiple hubs connecting Jackson both nationally and internationally for locals and visitors alike,” said JH AIR Board Chair Mike Gierau.
