JACKSON, Wyo. — Need some winter clothes for a little one before the snow falls?

It Takes a Valley Perinatal Resource Collaborative is bringing back its free clothing and gear swap for maternity, infant and child sizes on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. The free event will take place at the Teton County Fairgrounds Community Building. Members of the community can access strollers, carriers, high chairs, toys and more at zero cost.

There will be two drop-off windows before the swap for gently used items: Thursday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. See the guidelines for accepted donations here. The event is open to all, not just those who make donations, according to a social media post from It Takes a Valley. The swap offers clothing from size newborn to youth XL, though most available gear is for young children.

Items remaining after the swap will be donated to the Wind River Reservation for its Community Baby Shower.

The baby gear swap held in May brought out more than 350 shoppers and 226 volunteers, according to the It Takes a Valley website. The event attempts to cut down on waste, with the last swap receiving a reported 25,850 pounds of donated items. The organization later donated 2,890 pounds of gear to the Reservation.
