JACKSON, Wyo. — This Friday at R Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Indigenous Youth Voices will host a free community gathering along the Snake River to honor water, Indigenous knowledge and the legacy of the Standing Rock movement.

The event will center around water conservation, water stewardship, environmental resilience and “the role each of us carries in protecting the lands and waters for future generations.”

Among the speakers is Lynnette Grey Bull, who ran as a Democrat for a seat in the House of Representatives in 2020; Chase Iron Eyes, tribal law expert and water protector leader; and Red Thunder, wilderness guide and outdoor educator.

After the conversation, attendees are invited to stay to swim, fish and enjoy time together along the water.

The event comes at the 10-year anniversary of the Standing Rock protest movement against the Dakota Access Pipeline.
