JACKSON, Wyo. — The Hoback River Canyon, U.S. Highway 191/189, will close at 6 p.m. today, Jan. 6 for avalanche mitigation, according to an announcement from WYDOT.

Winter conditions, reduced visibility and increasing avalanche hazard may force an earlier closure. Drivers and backcountry users are advised to travel accordingly.
