UPDATE: US189/191 has reopened to traffic in both directions, WYDOT announced at 12:15 p.m.

HOBACK, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WDYOT) will close US 189/191 through Hoback Canyon for avalanche mitigation work at 12 p.m. today Tuesday, Feb 6.

WYDOT did not share details on the expected duration of the closure. According to WYDOT, “reduced visibility, winter driving conditions, and increasing avalanche hazard” may force an earlier closure.
