JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The Jackson Hole High School Moose hockey team lost this morning to Frisco, TX. The final was 5-3. Harrison Sauter staked the Moose to a one-goal lead less than two minutes after the opening faceoff, but it was all Frisco from there.
Frisco closed out the opening period with three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead into the first intermission.
Ryan Welch gave Jackson Hole a little life with a power play goal early in the second period to draw the Moose within one, but Frisco tallied twice more in the second before Sauter potted his second goal of the game to make it 5-3 headed into the third period where there was no more scoring.
Frisco played a very physical game, taking 6 penalties to Jackson’s 2, including two unsportsmanlike penalties, and minors for high-sticking, slashing, and kneeing.
The Moose are now out of the tournament with an overall record of 2-2 in National Division II play.
