JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Health Department (TCHD) is hosting its quarterly testing event for sexually transmitted infections (STI) on Saturday. The event is open to the community at little to no cost.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, TCHD’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Team will put on the event in the TCHD building at 460 East Pearl Ave. No appointments are necessary to attend; and wait times are possible.

“If you are sexually active, getting tested for STIs is one of the most important things you can do to protect your health and the health of those around you,” TCHD wrote in the event announcement. “Regular screening is crucial because many STIs do not present immediate symptoms, meaning you could be infected and unknowingly transmit them to others.”

Testing will take place for STIs such as HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and hepatitis C. For those unable to attend, STI testing appointments can be made during the week by calling (307) 733-6401, option 4 for nursing services.
