JACKSON, Wyo. — The South Park Boat Ramp will undergo maintenance next week in order to allow easier access for incoming boats as Snake River levels continue to drop.

According to a statement from Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation, Evans Construction crews will begin excavation at the base of the boat ramp around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Work is expected to be completed by early afternoon the same day.

The press release states that river access and egress is currently safe for boaters. River users will still be able to exit and access the river during the construction, but may experience short delays to ensure safe launch conditions.

“Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation appreciates the community’s patience as crews work to maintain an easily accessible boat ramp,” the statement reads.

Parks and Rec also noted that additional work on the plank system of the boat ramp is anticipated for later in the fall. More planks will be added to extend the ramp farther into the water. This work is necessary to compensate for changing river conditions and times of low water levels.
