JACKSON, Wyo. — The Nelson Drive Trailhead has temporarily closed to vehicles due to flooding from snow runoff.

Friends of Pathways posted to Facebook on Thursday morning to announce that the trailhead will be closed while Bridger-Teton National Forest works to prevent current runoff flooding from reaching houses in the neighborhood.

“Foot traffic is allowed, but please use caution, as construction crews will be operating heavy equipment,” the announcement reads.

Work is expected to be complete by Friday evening, though frozen ground could delay progress.

Recent warm weather and precipitation have contributed to water accumulation, puddles and mud across the valley.
