GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK — Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) has announced two road projects slated for the week of June 24, which could cause some minor delays for those driving through the park.

Jenny Lake Scenic Drive will be closed to traffic from Monday, June 24, through Thursday, June 27, GTNP said. The one-way route will undergo road stripping operations and pavement preservation work “to improve vehicular and cyclist safety in the area.” As such, the Jenny Lake Overlook and the rest of the scenic drive will be closed to the public. Jenny Lake Lodge, String and Leigh Lake Trailheads and the Jenny Lake Visitor Center area will still be open to the public while work takes place, including the hiking trail around Jenny Lake.

Road stripping will also cause delays of up to 15 minutes on U.S. Highway 89, Teton Park Road from Moose to Jackson Lake Junction, the North Park Road from Moran to the South Entrance of Yellowstone National Park and the Colter Bay Visitor Center area. Some of these operations will be conducted at night, GTNP said.

“Motorists should plan ahead for delays and reduce speed in areas where road striping occurs,” GTNP said. “Roadwork schedules may change without notice, or be delayed, due to weather conditions or other extenuating circumstances.”
