Benoliel Chamber Music Series featuring Guitar Quintet & More hits the stage at 7 p.m. tonight, July 23, at Walk Hall. Explore music spanning centuries and styles, from classical foundations to contemporary works. The evening opens with Oskar Böhme’s bold Sextet, a spirited showcase for brass virtuosity. Don’t miss guitarist JIJI performing Boccherini’s Spanish-infused “Fandango” Quintet with Festival musicians. On July 25 and 26, orchestra and audience favorite 0rchestra and audience favorite Stéphane Denève returns to Walk Festival Hall to transport listeners to ancient Greece and Rome. But first, Jessie Montgomery’s thrilling Strum sets the stage for international guitar sensation JIJI, as she brings even more instrumental color to the evening on Rodrigo’s ever popular Concierto de Aranjuez.
Join GTMF for the second annual Pre-Concert Happy Hour! From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., start the night off at CASA with drinks, food and live music by guitarist Toby Smith before walking over to Walk Festival Hall for the 7 p.m. Festival Orchestra concert.
