JACKSON, Wyo. — He founded one of the country’s most revolutionary rock bands. And this March, the original Deadhead will play in Jackson on the Rendezvous Festival mainstage.
Legendary guitarist and founding member of the Grateful Dead Bob Weir will headline the 7th Annual Jackson Hole Rendezvous Festival. Bob Weir and the Wolf Bros will take center stage Saturday, March 28.
Weir’s latest project with Wolf Bros promises a performance of historic proportions for Jackson Hole’s audience of employees, local Wyomingites, skiers, and riders. Get ready for one memorable “Saturday Night” of uncut spirit amplified by a shared culture uniting two American classics: Bob Weir and Jackson Hole.
“Bob Weir in Jackson Hole will make this Rendezvous Festival an event not to be missed,” offers JHMR Chief Brand Officer, Tyler LaMotte. “We’re going to see a lot of happy skiers and riders this spring and probably from all over the country for this one.”
Long considered one of rock’s finest rhythm guitarists, Weir established his status with the 1965 founding of the Grateful Dead. Spanning over 50-plus years since, Weir and the globally-recognized Grateful Dead quickly solidified a status as one of the greatest rock bands of all time, known for an eclectic, uniquely American fusion of country, folk, jazz, bluegrass, blues, gospel and psychedelic rock. With an incomparably devoted fan base, the Grateful Dead’s popularity resulted in a 1994 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in the sale of over 35 million albums worldwide. Together with bandmates, bassist Don Was and drummer Jay Lane, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros should feel right at home Jackson Hole. Having worked on a ranch in Wyoming as a teenager, Weir’s artistry reflects much of these early-life experiences.
