Good food, superb wine, great cause: Winter Fest 2018

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Um, foodies, you are going to want to be a part of this.

When Jackson Hole Food & Wine launched its Summer 2017 Festival expectations were high but, wow, who could have seen that coming?

The event was so successful, Food & Wine set the date for next summer’s (June 21-23, 2018) and almost immediately began seriously considering a winter version. And here that is…

Chef Tyler Florence

The inaugural Winter Fest will be a three-day affair hosted on the slopes of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and headlined by celebrated chef Tyler Florence. The event is scheduled for March 8-10, 2018.

Tickets went on sale December 15 and are expected to go fast. A palate of price points, ranging from $85 to $500, should provide a suitable match of budget and personal preference for anyone.

Expect Chef Florence to bring a high alpine focus for food-loving travelers to enjoy. He’ll get help from a broad culinary community of local chefs, winemakers, cocktail and beer experts, and much more. Ski amazing terrain and then taste why Jackson has become an impressive food and wine destination.

“Jackson Hole Mountain Resort provides the ultimate backdrop to launch our first winter festival,” offered Megan Gallagher, director of Jackson Hole Food & Wine. “Winter Fest is a bonus for any traveler already headed to Jackson. But we hope it will become a destination food event in its own right. Play in the mountains by day and sip and savor by night.”

Food & Wine’s mission is simple. They aspire to produce an intimate and unique food and beverage festival that highlights the exceptional valley of Jackson Hole while giving back to the community and the greater good. For 2018, both the winter and summer festivals will support Hole Food Rescue, a local nonprofit that distributes excess food from grocery stores, bakeries, farms and local businesses to organizations serving the at-risk, in-need residents of Teton County.

Luscious lineup

2018’s first-annual Winter Fest weekend kicks off with an intimate evening of ‘Big Wines, Small Plates’ hosted by Piste Mountain Bistro in consort with guest panelists. In the following days, Festival-goers may choose from other event highlights including:

  • Taste of Teton Village The Best of Après Presented by Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole
  • Whiskey Mountain Presented by Wyoming Whiskey & Old Yellowstone Garage
  • Wine Dinner at 9,000 feet with Tyler Florence Presented by Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
