JACKSON, WY– There are maybe two things Jackson locals will get in line at 5 a.m. for—first tram is one of them.

The Ski Swap is the other. Get ready folks, the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club’s Ski Swap opens its doors this Saturday morning at the Teton County Fairgrounds.

Jackson’s Ski Swap is one of the few places where you can find really good consigned gear for people of all ages and abilities. But more than that, the Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club is a community tradition. It’s hard not to bond with people standing next to you in line.

And, of course, the Ski Swap is one of JHSC biggest fundraisers of the year. Money raised directly supports programming for JHSC’s 500 student athletes. So you’re buying gear for a cause.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort retail specialists will be there to help with gear pricing, boot fitting, and any questions you may have. Look for them in this groovy shirt.

Starting at 7:30 (early bird) Saturday morning, local and regional vendors and winter sports enthusiasts (including professional athletes) will be selling new and used alpine, Nordic, freeski, snowboard, and backcountry hard goods and soft goods. Basically anything you might need to get out there this winter, you can find at the Ski Swap. It’s also a great opportunity to get outfitted for a new winter sport if you’re curious. The Ski Swap will be staffed with retail professionals, JHSC staff and volunteers ready to help people make shopping decisions based on their ability and needs.

Need to make room in your gear shed? You can also sell your old gear at the Swap. Gear drop-off is Friday, October 19 from noon-7 p.m. JHSC will mail you your cut of the sale by November 2, so be sure to write your information legibly. If your gear doesn’t sell, pick it up Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Any gear not picked up by 4 p.m. will be donated to the Pinedale Ski Swap.

So ready, set, line up! The first people in line get there by 5 a.m. or earlier. Early bird doors open at 7:30, general public doors open at 8:15. There will be breakfast burritos and coffee for sale for those in line starting at 6:30 a.m.! Get your hands on the good gear before it’s gone.
