JACKSON, Wyo. — After 600 people attended the event this past spring, It Takes a Valley: Perinatal Resource Collaborative and Teton County Health Department (TCHD) are anticipating a big turnout for the return of the free maternity/infant/child clothing and gear swap on Saturday, Nov. 8.

The swap will take place at the Teton County Fairgrounds Community Building on 390 W. Karns Ave. from 9 a.m. to noon. A free ticket is required for each adult and can be obtained here or at the door.

The community event allows families to exchange clean, gently used maternity, infant and child clothing (preemie through youth sizes), as well as children’s gear including strollers, carriers, high chairs and toys at no cost.

“Even if families don’t have items to donate, they’re welcome to shop on Saturday,” It Takes A Valley said via press release. “Families get support and perfectly good gear stays out of the landfill, a true win-win!”

This fall, the swap will have a variety of child care professionals on hand to help families with their maternity and infant concerns. TCHD nurses will share tips for safe sleep practices for infants, and they will also provide new Love Swaddles for babies at the event. The St. John’s Health Lactation Department will assist families navigating postpartum recovery. Jackson Hole Fire/EMS child passenger safety technicians will offer free car seat safety checks to ensure proper installation during event hours.

“Together, we’re helping local families access what they need for their little ones while creating connections, reducing stress for parents and supporting maternal mental health and perinatal resource navigation across our community,” TCHD Community Health Manager Rachael Wheeler said in a statement.

It Takes a Valley Executive Director Alli Lane said that the swap is run by over 100 volunteers who help to sort, organize and create a welcoming space for families to shop.

“We’re thrilled to co-host another free swap, and this time we’re bringing even more community partners to the table,” Lane said. “When TCHD nurses, St. John’s lactation consultants and Fire/EMS Child Passenger safety technicians join us alongside the incredible volunteers who make this event possible, it embodies what we believe: it truly takes a valley to support families. This isn’t just about providing free clothing and gear —it’s about creating a space where families can access multiple layers of support.”
