JACKSON Wyo. — The second annual Brainstorm Speaker Series at the Center for the Arts kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 4 with five voices who challenge conventional thinking. All events will be free.
The series, which is presented by the Teton County Library, the Jackson Hole News&Guide and Center for the Arts, will offer a mix of humor, science and powerful storytelling, according to the News&Guide Digital Editor Cindy Harger.
“We are excited to present a diverse lineup of speakers who give us mirrors and windows into understanding ourselves and the world we are in, ” Teton County Library Adult Programs Coordinator Leah Shlachter said via press release.

Dallas Goldtooth, “Cowboy Indians, Indian Cowboys & How Not to Die on Camera” - Monday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.
Erin Brockovich, “The Power of One” - Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 at 7 p.m.
Dr. Anna Lembke, “Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence” - Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 7 p.m.
Aza Raskin, National Geographic Explorer and podcaster - Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 7 p.m.
Chanel Miller, author of “Know My Name”
Indigenous comedian, actor and climate activist, Dallas Goldtooth, will open the series on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Center Theater at 7 p.m., with “Cowboy Indians, Indian Cowboys & How Not to Die on Camera.” Tickets are free and available now.
Goldtooth, of Dakota and Diné heritage, is well-known for writing and acting in the FX series Reservation Dogs and is in the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ series “The Last Frontier.” He is also the co-creator of the Indigenous comedy group The 1491s and a climate change activist with his nonprofit the Indigenous Environmental Network.
Following Goldtooth, the series will feature Erin Brockovich on Monday, Nov. 18 and free tickets will be available through the Center Box Office at JHCenterForTheArts.org on Oct. 18. Her keynote, “The Power of One,” will focus on the importance of individual action in the face of systemic challenges.
“Brockovich’s story of uncovering one of the largest water contamination cases in American history has inspired millions,” Harger said.
On Saturday, Jan. 25, Dr. Anna Lembke, a professor of psychiatry at Stanford University and an internationally recognized expert in addiction medicine, will discuss the science of overconsumption in her talk, “Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence.” Free tickets to see Anna Lembke’s presentation will be available on Dec. 13.
The Brainstorm series will also feature Aza Raskin on Wednesday, March 19. Raskin is a National Geographic Explorer, co-host of the popular podcast “Your Undivided Attention,” and co-founder of Earth Species Project, an international nonprofit dedicated to using AI to decode animal communication. He is also the co-founder of the Center of Humane Technology, working to align technology with humanity’s best interests. Raskin was instrumental in the Emmy-winning documentary The Social Dilemma. Free tickets for Aza Raskin’s presentation will be available on Feb. 14.
New York Times best selling author Chanel Miller will conclude the series on Wednesday, April 23. Her memoir, “Know My Name,” chronicles her journey reclaiming her narrative after she was sexually assaulted at Stanford University. Free tickets to attend Chanel Miller’s talk will be available on March 14.
