JACKSON, Wyo. — Go for the free beer, stay for the life-saving backcountry info.
Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR), Exum Guides and the Mountain Guides will host the annual beacon search training event “Beacons and Brews” from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Snake River Brewing (SRB).
Participants can enjoy free beer and hot cocoa along with free mentorship by the professionals in attendance.
“New this year we have access to SRB’s big field which means more light, more space for multi-burial searches, and more access to indoor warmth if you need it,” TCSAR posted to social media.
The pros will set up rescue demonstrations and single/multi-person burial practice scenarios. No experience or gear is required, but participants are invited to bring their own equipment if they want to practice with the tools they use in the field.
