JACKSON, Wyo. — The Jackson Hole Airport will be conducting its Full-Scale Exercise today as part of its emergency training from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Live fires and emergency responders will be active on airport property during these times. Flames, ambulances and a mock incident may be visible from homes or roadways.
“We want you to know that this is just a drill,” said Jackson Hole Airport this morning. “Water will be used to extinguish fires. No firefighting foam will be used.”
The Federal Aviation Administration regulations require airports to conduct a full-scale exercise every three years to rehearse with all entities that would be involved in an actual emergency. The purpose of the exercise is to evaluate the preparedness and capabilities of the airport, its tenants and local response agencies.
