DUBOIS, Wyo. — Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa is showing its appreciation to Wyoming residents this February with a month-long invitation to a fabulous staycation at the exclusive resort at special locals-only rates.

This February, the all-inclusive rates for Wyoming locals start at $345 per adult per night, $245 for kids ages 10-14, and $145 kids ages 5-9, which includes all meals, activities and guides, plus taxes and service charge (minimum two-night stay).

Located near Dubois, just 60 miles northeast of Jackson, Brooks Lake Lodge typically receives anywhere from 400-600 inches of snow in February, creating a winter wonderland for snow enthusiasts, especially snowmobilers. Following a visit last February SnoWest magazine called its sledding trip to Brooks Lake Lodge “nearly perfect,” citing that they only say “nearly” because they aren’t sure if they have had the perfect trip yet, but that Brooks Lake Lodge came “oh so close.”

Meanwhile, American Snowmobiler magazine called the lodge a “bucket list destination for sledheads” following its memorable experience, adding that “the riding is fabulous, but the food and drink are equally perfect.”

While snowmobiling is the most popular winter activity, Brooks Lake Lodge guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor snowy fun with snowshoeing, XC skiing and ice fishing. Photo courtesy Brooks Lake Lodge

Nestled lakeside at the base of the mountains deep in the Shoshone National Forest, Brooks Lake Lodge is the perfect place for couples to enjoy a romantic February retreat or for snowmobilers to enjoy a spectacular staycation in a world-renowned snowmobile destination right here in Wyoming. Locals can bring their own sleds to the lodge for exploring the nearly 2 million acres of scenic terrain or rent one of the lodge’s high-performance Polaris RMK machines.

The lodge offers a remote, scenic winter playground for guests to enjoy other activities such as XC skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing, either accompanied by a guide or exploring solo. With a maximum of 36 guests at a time, every guest is a VIP and can expect the superb service the lodge is known for during outdoor adventures or indoor relaxing.

And relaxing it is. The historic lodge overlooks Brooks Lake and the dramatic Pinnacle Buttes and boasts three giant crackling stone fireplaces for lounging around with a good book – or a Hot Toddy or Wyoming Whiskey Manhattan, while kids sip hot chocolate and play Candyland or foosball. Other ways to relax at Brooks Lake Lodge include enjoying a spa treatment like a deep tissue massage or a rejuvenating facial at the onsite Rocky Mountain Spa, complete with an enormous 11 x 17 ft. outdoor hot tub to soak in at any point of the day.

The cuisine at Brooks Lake Lodge has been called “the best meal in the middle of nowhere” by Food & Beverage magazine and, as the Travel Channel put it, “Without exception, meals are delicious, creative and reminiscent of life in the West.” There is no pressure to eat light or to order what’s affordable: all meals prepared by acclaimed Executive Chef Whitney Hall are included in an overnight stay, and the meals are in a league of their own. Hearty Western breakfasts featuring banana French toast, Belgian waffles and omelets prepare guests for a day outdoors, and lunch offers a chance to refuel with dishes like Elk Sloppy Joes on toasted garlic bread or a Sagebrush Salad with pesto noodles, heirloom tomatoes, ricotta cheese, spinach, dehydrated corn and poached egg. Meanwhile, dinner at Brooks Lake Lodge changes nightly but offers guests entrees such as Tenderloin of Beef Roulade stuffed with fresh spinach, red bell peppers and toasted pine nuts; Cajun Diver Scallops; and Herb Encrusted Pork Roast with a grilled apricot and cranberry chutney.

Locals can get off the grid without straying too far from town this February at Brooks Lake Lodge and enjoy a true escape from the day-to-day without leaving the state. While WiFi is available for those who do need to connect with the outer world, for couples and families seeking a high-speed connection to each other and nature, the lodge provides a gorgeous, truly remote setting to reboot.
