RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) — A group of newspapers in Wyoming has been sold to a local businesswoman.
Grace Andrus has purchased The (Riverton) Ranger, Lander Journal and Wind River News, along with the ADvertiser/EXTRA, from the Peck family, Publisher Steve Peck announced Friday.
Peck, 60, has been The Ranger’s publisher since 1991. His 38-year career included working 23 years alongside his father, Ranger co-founder Bob Peck, who died in 2007.
Steve Peck worked a variety of jobs at the family paper, including paper routes.
“I’ve never known one day in my life without it,” Peck said.
Andrus is a Riverton-based financial adviser who approached Peck about buying the newspapers in April, The Ranger reported.
Andrus will operate the business under a new corporate name, Wyoming Media.
