JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. – Late season anglers might want to be aware of Jackson Lake dam flows and a few changes to the typical Fall/Winter cycle.
Rob Gipson, Regional Fisheries Supervisor for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department advised Buckrail of the anticipated schedule after meeting recently with Bureau of Reclamation.
“This is not a typical year since the reservoir needs to be drawn down for gate inspections. That work will take place from October 1 through mid October. When that work is done, the release will go to a winter flow of 280 cfs.
Anticipated changes are:
- Friday September 27 – decrease from 3,330 cfs to 2,760 cfs
- Saturday September 28 – decrease from 2,760 cfs to 2,190 cfs
- Sunday September 29 – decrease from 2,190 cfs to 1,620 cfs
- Monday September 30 – decrease from 1,620 cfs to 1,050 cfs
- Tuesday October 1 – decrease from 1,050 cfs to 480 cfs
- October 1 through mid-October – maintain about 480 cfs
- Mid-October – go to 280 cfs for the rest of the winter
