JACKSON, Wyo. — Ready to move on from the holidays?
Teton County offers two ways to upcycle Christmas trees for free after the festivities are over. Residents can bring clean trees purged of ornaments, lights, tinsel, stands and other decor to the fairgrounds parking lot (near the recycling containers) through Sunday, Jan. 11. Note that the schedule has changed from years past, when this service was available through the end of January.
For those who can’t make it to the fairgrounds by then, the Teton County Trash Transfer Station will accept clean trees for free through the end of January. Trees will be chipped and composted locally, saving the cost and emissions of hauling them to the landfill out of state.
