VICTOR, Idaho — The Teton Basin Ranger District is closing several dispersed campsites up Teton Canyon beginning Aug. 2 at 7 a.m., Caribou-Targhee National Forest announced Tuesday.

A contract saw crew will visit sites and thin the smaller trees and brush around the sites for wildfire fuel reduction.

The project will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Thursday, Aug. 3 until the work is completed. Campsites will be closed as the crew works but will reopen as soon as they move through the area.

The closed dispersed sites will be marked with a closed sign at the entrances, off the main Teton Canyon Road.

Questions about this temporary closure should be directed to the Teton Basin Ranger District at 208-354-2312.
