DRIGGS, Idaho — The City of Driggs has added two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, according to its November newsletter.
“We are excited to announce a groundbreaking development that marks a significant step toward a greener and more sustainable future,” the announcement read. “These charging stations are a testament to our commitment to environmental conservation and provide a convenient and eco-friendly option for both residents and visitors.”
According to data from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center, Idaho is home to more than 5,900 electric vehicles. Nearby Rexburg and Idaho Falls also host a number of charging stations.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 12:30 p.m. to unveil the new chargers, which are located behind City Hall.
The chargers will be owned and maintained by Fall River Rural Electric Cooperative.
