PINEDALE, Wyo. — And now, some happy news:
A Sublette County Sheriff’s Deputy successfully rescued a dog who had fallen through ice on Fremont Lake on Tuesday.
The call came at around 1:15 p.m. March 31. Sublette County deputies, Wyoming Highway Patrol, and Tip Top Search and Rescue responded immediately.
Upon arrival, responders found the dog roughly 40 yards offshore holding onto the edge of a hole in the ice approximately 10 feet across. According to the reporting party, the dog had been in the water for approximately 30 minutes.
Deputy Todd Morgan was able to cautiously crawl across the ice to the dog. He pulled the dog to safety without incident.
The dog, delighted to be free from the cold water, was returned to its owner who was anxiously waiting onshore.
