JACKSON, Wyo. — The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce released an overview of their “Lodging Destimetrics Report” for Jackson Hole lodging properties.

The report reveals that winter occupancies, from November through March, finished at 53.9% occupancy compared to last year’s 52.6%.

“Considering the recorded snowfall at JHMR was less than 350 inches this season, I would consider this a win,” Kent Elliott, director of destination global sales at the Chamber said in the report.

According to Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center, snowfall totaled 496 inches in Rendezvous Bowl last year. The 33-year total snowfall average is 423 inches.

As of March 31, the Chamber is projecting a decline in occupancy rates from April through July. The report attributes this decline to the airport closure.

“With a decrease in demand, it looks as though average room rates have decreased for the month of April but remain strong with a slight increase in May, June, and July,” said Kent.

As of right now, August and September are projecting a more than 10% increase in occupancy compared to the same time last year.
