WYOMING — The Wyoming Department of Agriculture Consumer Health Services division has issued a warning that certain granola bars and cereals made by the Quaker Oats Company have been recalled due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The department says the products were sold in Wyoming and across the nation, and were distributed through schools.

“If consumers in Wyoming have any of the recalled products, do not consume it and dispose of it immediately,” the Dept. of Agriculture said in a statement.

The recalled product list includes various granola bars, granola cereal, variety packs and snack boxes. The list is available here: https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/quaker-recalls-granola-bars-and-granola-cereals-due-possible-health-risk.

“The Wyoming Department of Agriculture Consumer Health Services division is contacting school districts due to the susceptible population and possible distribution through their nutrition programs, vendors and warehouses, and grocery chains to ensure they are aware of the recall and have removed products from shelves,” per the press release.

Salmonella can cause serious illness in young children, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms can include fever, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

Those who possess the recalled Quaker products should dispose of them. Contact Quaker Consumer Relations at 1-800-492-9322 or visit www.quakergranolarecall.com for additional information or product reimbursement.
