TETON COUNTY, Wyo. — The deadline to pay outstanding property taxes for 2022 is Aug. 1 at 4:30 p.m., according to the Teton County Treasurer’s Office.
The annual property tax lien sale will be held in the Teton County 4-H Building (Elizabeth McCabe 4-H Center) located at 255 W. Deloney Avenue on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
As of July 28, outstanding balances exist on 33 parcels.
The tax lien sale sells the liens on the property to a buyer who may then pursue the collection of monies owed. Liens are a right to keep possession of property belonging to another person until a debt owed by that person is discharged..
Information regarding the annual Tax Lien Sale, delinquent parcels, payment options and procedures can be found here, under the “Property Tax” heading.
“Ideally, property owners can remedy the situation prior to a third party purchasing the tax lien for the parcel,” Katie Smiths, Teton County treasurer said.
