JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Members of the League of Women Voters, in collaboration with the Teton County Library and local media, have chosen Wednesday, August 8(Teton County Commission primary candidates) and Thursday August 9(Jackson Town Council primary candidates).
The forums will feature debates among candidates in contested local primary races and will be held at 7pm each evening in the library’s Ordway Auditorium. The primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, August 21.
As in the past, the forums will seek questions from members of the audience, will likely include a small panel of questioners, and will be guided by a moderator. The forums are organized by the League of Women Voters, Jackson Hole News & Guide, KHOL, WyoFile and the Teton County Library. The coalition will provide a nonpartisan environment in which ideas can be debated in a civil and even-handed manner.
Uncontested primary candidates who automatically advance to contested general election races in November will be invited to give short statements. Those include Republican candidates for County Commissioner and for Teton County Sheriff at the August 8 forum, and candidates for Wyoming House District 16 at the August 9Â forum.
 General Election forums are scheduled for Thursday, October 11, Monday, October 15, Monday, October 22, and Wednesday, October 24. The General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 6.
