JACKSON, Wyo. — Construction crews are making steady progress on the Stilson Transit Center near the intersection of WY22 and WY390.
The Teton BUILD Grant posted aerial photos of the partially completed construction to its Facebook page on Wednesday, Sept. 10. The project is funded in part by a 2022 SPET measure on transportation, as well as a $20 million BUILD Grant from the Federal Highway Administration that is being shared across multiple projects along the Teton Mobility Corridor.
In the photos, the main Beckley Parkway appears to be paved and completed. The footprints for the bus station and the bike shelter are visible on the southeast side of Beckley Parkway.
Teton County Director of Public Works Heather Overholser told Buckrail that the northeast side of the parking lot will be paved by mid-October and open during the winter, which will be just over 50% of the whole lot. START Bus riders will continue to use the old bus stop building this winter while construction crews do vertical construction and interior work on the new facility.
“There will be approximately a similar number of parking spaces this coming winter as there were last year,” Overholser said.
According to a weekly update on Facebook posted on Monday, Sept. 8, crews are working on electric vehicle charging infrastructure along with a list of other tasks to be completed by the end of this week. The update also notes that parking lot paving operations are tentatively planned to begin on Oct. 2.
