JACKSON, Wyo. — Beginning Sunday, public access to online records in Teton County will be impacted for an undetermined amount of time as Teton County’s Geographic Information System (GIS) will temporarily go offline.
Teton County will be working to transition from the county’s current GIS to a different GIS platform, according to a press release Wednesday. This will result in the current website being temporarily inaccessible to the public.
Teton County has historically provided the GIS platform as a courtesy to the public and fully intends to continue to provide this service. The public-facing website will go temporarily offline beginning Sunday, Feb. 12.
“Teton County realizes that this disruption in services could impact some individuals and businesses,” the county said in a news release.
An email from the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday stated that “this resource is critical to engineers, surveyors, architects, real estate agents, lawyers, landscape architects and many more professional service individuals throughout the community. Our understanding is that the County Commissioners will have a possible new service contract to approve on their Feb. 21 agenda.”
While the system is offline, members of the public can email questions regarding access to records to the Teton County Clerk’s Office here or visit the Clerk’s Office located in the basement of the Teton County Administration Building at 200 S Willow Street in Jackson. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Buckrail reached out to the county clerk for comment and has yet to receive a response. This is a developing story and will be updated as details become available.
