JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Clerk of District Court is encouraging summer travelers in need of processing assistance to book appointments as soon as possible due to increased passport processing times.
On March 24, the U.S. Department of State (USDS) released an alert that passport processing times have increased up to three to four months.
“We are approaching what is expected to be our busiest summer travel season on record,” the USDS said in the statement.
Expedited passport application processing is estimated to take 11 weeks, up to nine weeks once received at USDS, plus an estimate of one week mailing time each way. Standard passport application processing is estimated to take 15 weeks, up to 13 weeks once received at USDS, plus an estimate of one week mailing time each way.
Current appointment availability at the Clerk of District Court’s Office can be found here. Keep in mind that availability is often three to four weeks out.
