JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County and nonprofit Protect Our Water Jackson (POWJH) are joining forces to host a free event about water quality management in the area.

The Water Summit will connect community members interested in water quality with professionals and experts. Hear from keynote speaker Jennifer Zygmunt, Water Quality Division Administrator for the Wyoming Department of Environmental, along with others in the field.

“We hope that this event serves as an opportunity for folks to learn about what’s happening in the world of water quality management, but also, discover ways we can work together to protect one of our most essential resources,” Teton County Water Resources Coordinator Christopher Peltz said in the announcement.

Attendees can expect to learn about Teton County’s Water Quality Management Plan and Water Quality Advisory Board, as well as the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Wyoming Water Development Program and recent legislative changes. There will also be conversations about subjects including fire preparedness, land use and new technologies.

The summit will be held in the Teton County Library’s Ordway Auditorium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23. Lunch will be provided at this free event. See the county’s website for more information.
