JACKSON, Wyo. — After being without a planning director of its own since mid-2018, and sharing the town’s for four years before that, Teton County finally has a planning director all its own.

Chris Neubecker is now the new Director of Planning and Building Services at Teton County. Neubecker will begin working for the county on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.

Neubecker will move to Jackson from Vail, Colorado, where he worked for the past four years as the Planning Manager for the Town of Vail.

“I am honored to be selected for this role,” Neubecker said. “I look forward to meeting and working with the people and organizations that make Teton County special. I’m also looking forward to working with Teton County’s great staff and County Commissioners to help implement the community’s vision for the future.”

Neubecker has more than 21 years of professional experience working in the public sector throughout Colorado, including the mountain towns of Breckenridge and Vail.

Neubecker will oversee the department’s staff and services as they relate to land use and development permits, long-range community planning, building permits and inspections, and zoning enforcement.

Teton County borrowed town planner Tyler Sinclair after Jeff Daugherty announced his resignation in December 2013. That arrangement lasted until June 2018 when the town announced it was taking Sinclair back so he could focus solely on town planning.

The county has made temporary hires since then as it searched for a permanent replacement.
