JACKSON, Wyo. — On Wednesday, Oct. 23, the Chabad Jewish Center is hosting Sushi in the Sukkah to celebrate the holiday of Sukkot.

According to Chabad.org, Sukkot is a weeklong Jewish holiday that comes five days after Yom Kippur and celebrates the gathering of the harvest. It also commemorates the story of miraculous protection for the children of Israel when they left Egypt.

Dwelling in a “foliage-covered booth,” known as a sukkah, evokes the memory of those leaving Egypt finding respite in these temporary structures in the desert.

The family-friendly event starts at 5 p.m. and includes a sushi and sashimi bar, an international selection of kosher wines, the opportunity to shake the Lulav and Etrog, a salad and dessert buffet and dancing with the Torahs.

The Chabad Jewish Center is located at 265 E Broadway Ave. To RSVP for the free event, click here.
