JACKSON, Wyo. — County Commissioner Luther Propst has announced his bid for re-election to the Teton County Board of County Commissioners for a third term.
Propst’s campaign centers on a variety of focus-areas, including land, water and wildlife protections; tourism growth management that protects residents of the community; and investment in housing, transportation, public safety and social services.
His press release reviews some of the work that Propst has focused on in his career since his initial election to the Board of County Commissioner in 2018. The Democrat has supported projects such as the Jackson Street Apartments, Parkside at Benson-Brown and the Legacy Lodge. Propst played a role in helping to develop a water quality plan and advancing conservation of public lands.
Propst states that he believes Teton County is at a crossroads. He cites more mansions sitting vacant while residents are working to make ends meet, worsening water quality and longer commutes for critical community members like firefighters, teachers and healthcare workers.
“This moment calls for experience, steady and informed leadership, grounded in the long view, and willing to make decisions that reflect our deepest values and — to paraphrase Captain Spock — benefit the many, not just the few,” Propst says in his press release. “I am running for re-election because I firmly believe that the second path is attainable. It’s who we are at our best. It’s worth fighting for.”
