JACKSON, Wyo. — Snake River Fund will host an educational day at Astoria Park this Saturday to get you safe and ready for the summer’s river season.

Bring your PFD and your dancing shoes for a whole day of river related celebration! Practice your throwbag skills, roll a kayak with instructors, beef up your first aid skills, and more with our free-for-all clinics.

Kayak Roll Clinic | Noon – 2 p.m.

All ages are welcome to dial in their kayak rolling skills in Astoria’s riverside pool.

Registration is free.

Family First Aid Clinic  | Noon – 2 p.m.

Soak up the knowledge of Anthony Stevens of Wounded Bear Medicine and TCSAR to learn how to be prepared when things go wrong on the river and in the backcountry.

Registration is free.

Basic River Safety Clinic | Noon – 2 p.m.

Brush up on your basic river safety skills with KC Bess of Black Fox Rescue to keep you and your friends and family safe. Practice with throw bags, raft flipping, on-river rescue techniques, and more

Registration is free.

Raft Flip Clinic | Noon – 2 p.m.

Ever flipped a raft?! All ages are welcome to practice how to safely flip a raft, get out from beneath a raft, and right a flipped boat. All in a controlled, still water environment.

Registration is free.

Snake River Fest Speaker Series | 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Snake River Fest’s Speaker Series will feature experts on river running and conservation. Speakers will touch on the importance of local, regional, national, and international efforts to protect the waters we love. 

Registration is not necessary for this event.

Live Music | 4:30 PM – 9:00 p.m

Wind down the day and dance into the night with some family friendly reggae by the Chanman Roots Band, and Trevor Green.

Parking will be limited at Astoria on Saturday June 4. The Snake River Fest Team encourages people to take advantage of the free shuttles running from the Jackson Parking Garage to Astoria Park. Shuttles will run every half hour on the hour between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m., with the last shuttles leaving Astoria at 8:30 and 9 p.m.
