WYOMING — Chuck Gray, Wyoming’s current Secretary of State, announced his bid to run for congress on Monday in a press release and accompanying video. The announcement comes days after Rep. Harriet Hageman announced a separate campaign to run for senate.
“I’m running for Congress to continue fighting for Wyoming’s way of life,” Secretary Gray said in the release. “With Congresswoman Harriet Hageman running for U.S. Senate, Wyoming needs a representative who will build on her strong record, advance our shared Wyoming values, and advance the Trump agenda that has delivered the largest margin of victory in the nation in three straight presidential elections.”
In the video, Gray sets his position as a “MAGA conservative” and strong supporter of President Trump. He advertises that he is against wind projects in Wyoming and will protect coal, oil and gas, agriculture and soda ash industries.
“Woke wind is wrong for Wyoming,” Gray said in a statement. “I will work to end Obama-Biden subsidies for boondoggle projects and stand up for reliable, affordable energy that powers Wyoming families and jobs.”
Gray was raised outside of Los Angeles, California, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012 before moving to Wyoming full time in 2013.
