JACKSON, Wyo. — Experience the 10th anniversary screening of Meru, hosted by Grand Teton Music Festival (GTMF), followed by a Q&A session with filmmaker Jimmy Chin.

On Thursday, July 31, the epic mountain film, directed by Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, will be shown on the big screen at Walk Festival Hall in the shadow of the Tetons. Tickets can be purchased online and cost $30 for general admission or $5 for students.

Three elite climbers struggle to find their way through obsession and loss as they attempt to climb Mount Meru, one of the most coveted prizes in the high stakes game of Himalayan big wall climbing.

The award-winning documentary film, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this summer, will be followed by a Q&A with Chin, moderated by film critic and GTMF General Manager Jeff Counts. Meru won the U.S. Audience Documentary Award at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.

The movie has an “R” rating for language, and parents are encouraged to learn more about the film’s content before allowing children to watch it. Attendees under 17 years old must be accompanied to the screening by a parent or guardian.
