WYOMING – Casting for Recovery is announcing its annual retreat in Dubois for women throughout the state who are currently battling or are survivors of breast cancer.
Last year’s Casting for Recovery (CfR) get-together at the beautiful Absaroka Ranch in the Dunoir valley outside of Dubois was magical.
When they arrived at the near Dubois, these ladies were 14 strangers from across the state of Wyoming. Some 14 women diagnosed with breast cancer. From age 29 to 75, they included a bookkeeper, a pharmacy technician, a physical therapist, a campground host and more. From Cheyenne to Cody, and Shoshoni to Smoot, these ladies ranged from ‘in remission for 12 years’ to ‘currently in treatment.’ They were mothers and grandmothers and above all: survivors.

The weekend retreat is for women of any age and any stage of breast cancer treatment and recovery. The retreat is offered at no cost to participants. CfR 2019 takes place July 19-21 but the deadline to apply online is May 10, 2019.
Casting for Recovery’s mission is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly-fishing.
