JACKSON, Wyo. — The Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) will offer additional public engagement opportunities for the proposed e-bike designation on select Jackson area trails.
The call for additional public input is in response to the high public interest in the topic. Jackson District Ranger Todd Stiles said (via press release), that he was not surprised when over 330 people submitted comments covering a wide array of concerns. All the letters have been reviewed with specific ideas, benefits and concerns categorized.
The BTNF plans to release a video recording to share the full summary of public comments and provide information about the environmental analysis process and next steps in Jan. 2024. Following the video release, there will be an in-person public e-bike workshop in Feb. 2024 to help develop alternatives during the environmental analysis process.
“E-bike technology is here but the issues are complex,” Stiles said via press release. “The front-country trail system developed with lots of community input and partner contributions. I am confident that we can come together again with constructive dialogue and creative ideas to manage e-bike use.”
