JACKSON, Wyo. — Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) announced Thursday that it will continue to carry out prescribed burns in the area, this time focusing near Fall Creek Road and Bryan Flats.
Firefighters are burning slash piles while weather permits. The team is still monitoring smoldering piles from recent burns near Elk Heart Park, Kelly Guard Station, Shadow Mountain and Philips Ridge.
“Please do not report the smoke,” BTNF posted on Facebook.
The project is part of a larger pile-burning project currently underway in the Blackrock and Jackson Ranger Districts. A total of 277 acres of hand piles will be burned throughout the next few months, weather permitting.
