JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The Bridger-Teton National Forest is welcoming two temporary employees into vacant leadership positions in Jackson, Wyoming for the next 120 days.
Mary Moore will be serving as the Jackson District Ranger and Belle Craig will work as the B-T’s Deputy Forest Supervisor. Both will begin their detail assignment at the end of January.
Moore is currently the Leadville District Ranger in Leadville, Colorado on the Pike & San Isabel National Forests and Cimarron & Comanche National Grasslands (PSICC) where she has been since November 2016. She served as the Acting Rim Fire Long Term Recovery Coordinator and was previously the Forest Hydrologist and Water, Soil, Air, and Geology Program Manager for the Stanislaus National Forest in Sonora, California.
Moore also spent 14 years as a Restoration Hydrologist for the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit in South Lake Tahoe, CA. She received her Master of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University in Environmental Science and Policy Making with a focus in Hydrology, and her Bachelors of Arts degree from University of Virginia in Environmental Science with a focus in Ecology.
Craig currently works in the Geospatial Technology and Applications Center (GTAC) in Salt Lake City, UT for the United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service.
She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Geology and has worked for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) as a professional Land Surveyor. Craig has held a variety of positions in 10 different states—nine of them out west. She has managed professional services projects for many federal agencies including the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bureau of Reclamation, Forest Service, Department of Justice and the National Park Service. She also worked extensively with Indian Tribes including the Navajo Nation and the Coeur d’ Alene Tribe. After 20 years working for the BLM and Department of Interior she came to work in Utah for the Forest Service, as the Boundary and Title Manager in 2011.
Former Jackson District Ranger Dale Deiter took a promotion to work as the Forest Supervisor of the Prescott National Forest in Arizona beginning in January 2018. Deiter worked on the Bridger-Teton for 10 years.
The Forest does not have an estimate of when his position will be filled permanently. Deputy Forest Supervisor Derek Ibarguen took a temporary promotion to serve as the Forest Supervisor on the Caribou -Targhee National Forest in Idaho. Derek began his temporary assignment in Idaho Falls in early January 2018. He is expected to remain in that position for the next 120-days or less.
