JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Board of County Commissioners will discuss the Jackson Hole Skatepark phase three expansion on Tuesday, April 11.
The Board will discuss the contract with Dreamland Skateparks LLC, totaling $603,380 for the expansion project. Audrey and Scott Blum are donating the funding.
The first phase was completed in 2001 and the second in 2006. The total area of the park is 14,075 square feet. Phase three will expand the park to 27,575 square feet by expanding the area outside of the existing skatepark, with a larger flat skate surface, a mini-ramp, rails, stairs and boxes.
The contract outlines that the work should be completed by Aug. 30 and includes $500 per day for each calender day the completion of the work is delayed beyond Aug. 30, or beyond any extension granted by the Director of Parks and Rec.
Dreamland Skateparks is based in Oregon. The company builds skateparks nationwide, including Laramie, Lander, Pinedale, Riverton, Alpine and Driggs, and internationally.
The skatepark is owned by the state of Wyoming, leased by Teton County School District #1, and managed by Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation.
According to the Board’s agenda, Parks and Recreation recommends approval of the contract.
