Art Association planning for ‘Whodunnit,’ in the middle of annual membership drive
JACKSON HOLE, WYO – March is a busy month for the Art Association of Jackson Hole. As the organization readies for one of the most popular valley fundraisers, the Association is also kicking off its membership drive for 2018.
On Friday, March 9, the Art Association of Jackson Hole will host the 11th annual anonymous art show and sale Whodunnit? from 5:30-8:30pm in the Theater Lobby at The Center. The event will feature special 18’ X 18’ canvases done by notable artists along with more traditional sizes of 6’ X 6’ and 12’ X 12’.
Showcasing new works of art donated by 200 local and regional artists, Whodunnit? is one of the Jackson Hole community’s favorite fundraising events. Artists have painted their creations on canvas, however, they have not identified themselves on their work. Attendees to the event may choose to sign their name to a list for the opportunity to purchase the canvas. Once the sheet is filled, a dice roll will determine the person who will be able to purchase the work.
The cost for a 6’ X 6’ canvas is $99, the 12’ X 12’ canvas sells for $299, and the 18’ X 18’ canvases will auction starting at $499. You could walk away with a beautiful piece of art for an unbelievably low price! Proceeds benefit the Art Association’s art education program for youth and adults.
The Art Association is proud to feature artwork made by acclaimed artists such as Kathryn Turner, Anika Youcha, Carrie Wild, Mike Piggot, Greta Gretzinger, Katie Fox, Lee Riddell, Nicole Gaitan, Jina Kim, Kay Stratman, Claudia Bueno, Craig Spankie, Deb Fox, Craig Schwender, Shannon Troxler, Pamela Gibson and more!
The Art Association has begun its membership drive (check out the Art Association membership brochure) this week (February 26 through March 2). The Art Association is accepting new memberships all this week, but Friday, March 2 is the big celebration day. The Association will be giving out prizes every hour to new or renewing members. Friday evening the celebration will culminate in our annual Members Show opening reception. The show displays the works of the talented members of the Art Association that will hang for a month in the gallery. A grand prize winner will be drawn during the reception.
