DRIGGS, Idaho — A head-on car accident involving two vehicles west of Driggs killed four people on Friday night, according to a press release issued by Idaho State Police, Saturday.  

The accident occurred on State Highway 33 near milepost 125 just before 10 p.m. on Sept. 1. The highway was closed for eight hours following the accident.

According to Idaho State Police, a 2022 Tesla heading eastbound crossed the center line and collided with a 2007 Kenworth commercial vehicle.

The 46-year-old female driver of the Tesla and its three passengers, a 22-year-old female, a 24-year-old male and a child under 18 years old, died of their injuries at the scene of the crash. They were all from Utah. Idaho State Police said that everyone, including the 44-year-old Rexburg Idaho man who was driving the commercial vehicle, was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
