JACKSON, Wyo. — Who’s ready for some serious spring cleaning?

Teton County has announced a slate of events for tidying up during the week of May 6 through 11.

From Monday, May 6, through Saturday, May 11, the Trash Transfer Station will accept up to 500 pounds of residential yard waste from each resident for free. Beyond the 500 pounds, the charge for yard waste will be $88 per ton, or $0.04 per pound. Discounts do not apply to businesses, according to the county.

The annual free residential yard waste drop-off event will be held on Friday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the west side of the Teton County Fairgrounds. Bring leaves, grass and branches either loose or in compostable bags, which are available for free at Town Hall, Public Works Administration and the Recycling Center. Yard waste will be composted locally instead of being sent to a landfill. Do not bring plastic garbage bags, dog waste or trash to this event. Participants can also nab a free five-gallon residential compost bucket, according to the county’s announcement.
