JACKSON, Wyo. — PBS viewers everywhere will soon get the chance to know the Tetons’ most famous resident, thanks to the broadcasting of documentary “Grizzly 399: Queen of the Tetons” in early May.

The documentary, featuring the work of noted 399 photographer Thomas Mangelsen, will air as the fifteenth episode of season 42 of PBS’ “Nature,” which has been on the air since 1982.

Grizzly 399’s bumper crop of four cubs (born in 2020) takes center stage in the doc, along with her status as ambassador of Grand Teton National Park.

“The most famous bear in the Tetons attempts to raise cubs in the midst of conflicts with people,” the episode’s logline reads.

This is far from the first celebrity moment for the bear, who also featured heavily in the Grand Teton episode of National Geographic’s series “America’s National Parks” last summer.

Grizzly 399’s episode premieres at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8. See a trailer below:
