JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Wyoming is the #1 place to retire, according to an unofficial report from OnlyInYourState.com. Lisa Jensen rounded up a list of the most compelling reasons to make the Cowboy State your home after you hang up your saddle.
The list included many a reason to move to Wyoming before retirement, including many that play well right here in Jackson Hole. OnlyInYourState covered the basics—from low taxes and crime rate, to the awesome scenery and art, to the food and fishing—Wyoming has it all and most of it is right here in our backyard.
Maybe the best thing about Wyoming, at least according to one person commenting for the story, is the people.
“I am looking for a place to retire and have decided on Wyoming,” began Tami Koval of Morgan Hill, California. “I was worried that I wouldn’t be welcomed, but instead the people are amazingly welcoming. I am moving there because I want to get away from the rat race, including all the haters and ‘judgies.’ I just want to enjoy nature and ride my horse. I promise not to change anything, in fact, that is one reason why I want to move there. I am in a place where many thousands of people moved in, built houses and forced me and my horses out. So, my favorite thing about Wyoming is the people.”
