SHERIDAN, Wyo. — The field of competitors to represent Wyoming in the U.S. House of Representatives continues to grow. Bo Biteman, state senator and self-described “landman,” threw his hat in the ring on Thursday.

The Parkman, Wyoming-based Republican has served in the state legislature since 2017, first in the House of Representatives. He was elected to the state senate in 2018, and then became President of the Wyoming Senate in 2025.

“Wyoming needs a proven America First leader who will turn President Trump’s vision into real results for our state,” Biteman said in his campaign announcement. “As a husband and father raising two daughters in Sheridan County, I want what every Wyoming family wants: for our kids to grow up here, find good jobs, build a life, and actually be able to afford it.”

According to Biteman, he is a “landman with over 23 years in the oil, gas, and mining industry.” In addition to expanding Wyoming’s energy sector, his platform also includes: protecting the state’s outdoor heritage, defending the Second Amendment, standing up for farmers and ranchers, opposing abortion, and supporting veterans.

Biteman is aiming for the sole U.S. House seat being vacated by Harriet Hageman as she runs for the U.S. Senate. Six other Republicans are also jockeying for the position: current Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray, entrepreneur Reid Rasner, former State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow, Pinedale resident Matt McGinnis, and Casper veterans David Giralt and Kevin Christensen. The primary election will take place on Aug. 18.
